Cabin A/C Evaporator Core Assembly
This air-conditioning evaporator core is the heart of your cabin cooling system. It’s needed to pull heat and humidity out of the air so the interior stays comfortable, windows clear faster, and the blower doesn’t feel “warm” even when A/C is ON.
How it works ⚙️
Refrigerant flows through the thin internal passages of the core. As it expands, it gets very cold. The blower pushes cabin air across the aluminum fins, the heat transfers into the refrigerant, and moisture condenses and drains out through the case tube—giving you colder, drier air.
When the core is failing
A damaged unit can leak refrigerant, causing weak or no cooling, longer compressor run time, and possible compressor wear from low charge. Blocked fins or internal restriction may lead to uneven vent temps, foggy windows, musty odor, and water dripping inside if the drain area is compromised.
