A/C Evaporator Thermistor Sensor for Hyundai & Kia ❄️

This small sensor protects your HVAC system and your comfort. It constantly tracks the temperature of the evaporator core and tells the A/C control unit when to cycle the compressor. That prevents icing, keeps cabin air cold and steady, and saves fuel. Designed to OE specs, it clips to the evaporator fins and plugs into the factory harness for reliable readings and stable cooling.

Why this part is needed ️

Without precise evaporator temperature feedback, the system can’t control refrigerant flow correctly. The thermistor helps maintain ideal core temps, dehumidifies air efficiently, and protects components from freeze-up.

How it works βš™οΈ

It’s an NTC sensor: resistance drops as temperature rises. The A/C amplifier reads that signal and modulates the compressor (on/off or displacement) to keep the evaporator near 2–6Β°C, delivering crisp, dry air without icing.

What happens if it’s faulty

Typical symptoms include weak or warm A/C at stops, evaporator icing (airflow fades, then blasts water), rapid compressor cycling, foggy vents, or HVAC fault codes. Long term, icing can strain the blower and reduce evaporator life.

Tech tip

Located on/near the evaporator case (often behind the glove box). Handle the probe gently and ensure a firm clip to the fins for accurate readings.
