Why you need it

How it works
Inside is a DC motor with reduction gears that rotate the mode door shaft. An internal position sensor (potentiometer) tells the HVAC controller the exact angle, so it stops precisely at each setting. It mounts on the HVAC case and engages the door via a keyed hub.
What happens if it’s broken
Common signs: clicking or ticking behind the dash, stuck on one vent, random vent changes, weak floor airflow, no proper defrost, or HVAC error codes ⚠️.
