HVAC Evaporator Temperature Sensor for Hyundai H-1 / Grand Starex โ๏ธ
This small but critical AC sensor keeps your vanโs cooling smart and safe. It measures the evaporator core temperature and tells the HVAC control to cycle the compressor. Result: stable cabin chill, no icing, and better fuel economy. Perfect drop-in for vehicles where AC runs weak, blows warm, or ices up after a few minutes.
How it works
The probe is a precise NTC thermistor clipped to the evaporator fins. As the core cools, its resistance changes. The HVAC module reads this signal and keeps the core in the sweet spot (about 2โ6ยฐC), switching the compressor on/off to prevent freeze-up and airflow loss.
Why you need it
Accurate evaporator feedback protects the compressor, keeps vent temperature consistent, and prevents foggy vents or puddles under the dash. It restores proper AC cycling and comfort on hot days.
What happens if it fails โ ๏ธ
Shorted: compressor runs nonstop, evaporator ices, airflow drops, vents go warm after icing. Open circuit: compressor wonโt engage, only warm air. Other signs: random cycling, water drips, blower noise, AC fault codes in HVAC module. Inspect for cracked body, damaged clip, or corroded 2-pin plug.
Fitment & install tips
Clip-on replacement near the TXV on the evaporator. Disconnect battery, release the clip, swap sensor, reconnect the plug; do not bend fins. Add dielectric grease to contacts for longevity.
