Door Mirror Control Switch (Outer Side) ?✨
This cabin-mounted mirror control switch lets the driver adjust the left/right outer mirrors quickly for safe lane changes, parking, and towing alignment. It’s needed whenever the original switch becomes loose, sticky, or stops sending a clean signal to the mirror motors.
How it works ⚙️
Inside the switch are small contact plates and a selector circuit. You choose L or R, then tilt the pad. The switch sends polarity and direction signals through the door wiring to the mirror actuator motors, moving the glass up/down/left/right. A solid switch gives steady voltage, so the mirror moves smoothly without hesitation.
Signs the switch is failing ?
- Mirror won’t move in one or more directions
- Intermittent operation (works only when pressed hard)
- Mirror “jumps” or moves by itself due to worn contacts
- Selector stuck on one side, can’t choose L/R
If ignored ?
A broken mirror switch can leave mirrors misaligned, creating blind spots and failed visibility checks. In some cases it can overload the circuit, causing blown fuses or overheating at the connector from poor contact resistance.
