This calibrated metering valve keeps your cabin cool and your compressor safe. It controls how much liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator, stabilizing superheat and preventing floodback. Built to OE spec for tough off‑road use, it restores crisp, even cooling in hot climates and heavy traffic.
Why this part is needed ?
Correct refrigerant flow is the heart of the HVAC system. With a healthy valve, you get fast cool-down, steady vent temps, and proper system pressures—protecting the compressor and extending the life of hoses, seals, and the dryer.
How it works ?
A thermal bulb senses evaporator outlet temperature/pressure and modulates a needle at the orifice. It drops high‑pressure liquid to low‑pressure vapor in the evaporator, holding the right superheat so the coil absorbs maximum heat without liquid reaching the compressor.
What happens if it fails ⚠️
Stuck open: frosting lines, erratic cooling, risk of liquid slugging. Stuck closed/clogged: weak or no cooling, low side in vacuum, high side rises, hissing or whistling. Internal leak or corrosion: loss of charge, rapid cycling, poor performance at idle.
