Coolant Reservoir Tank Assembly
This liquid tank is a key part of the engine cooling system. It stores extra coolant as the engine heats up and gives it back when the system cools down. That keeps coolant level stable, prevents air pockets, and helps the radiator and water pump work at full efficiency.
Why This Part Is Needed β
Coolant expands with temperature. Without a proper reservoir, pressure changes can push coolant out, lower the level in the radiator, and cause overheating. A healthy tank also makes topping up and bleeding the system easier during service.
How It Works βοΈ
When coolant gets hot, excess fluid flows into the tank through the hose. As it cools, vacuum draws coolant back into the system. The tankβs body and fittings must stay sealed to hold correct flow and prevent leaks.
What Happens If It Breaks
Cracks, weak seams, or a damaged outlet can cause slow leaks, coolant smell, low level warnings, and unstable engine temperature. If ignored, it may lead to overheating, warped cylinder head, or head gasket failure.
