    Low‑friction Transmission/Axle Oil Seal for Honda ⚙️

    This precision seal keeps gearbox or CVT fluid inside and road dust outside, while reducing drag. Its low-torque design lowers lip friction, helping fuel economy and smoother rotation of the driveshaft/input shaft. Built from heat‑resistant elastomer with a spring‑loaded lip, it holds pressure under highway heat and city stop‑go.

    Why it’s needed ?️

    Without a healthy seal, fluid level drops and contamination increases. The result can be harsh shifts, bearing wear, and overheated transmission parts. This seal protects the transmission and differential for long service life.

    How it works

    A micro‑finished sealing lip, supported by a garter spring, rides lightly on the shaft. Spiral micro‑grooves pump oil back inside, while the outer shell grips the case to prevent creep. The low‑friction profile cuts heat and energy loss.

    If broken or worn ?

    Signs include wetness around the shaft, drops of ATF/gear oil, burnt‑oil smell on exhaust, whining on acceleration, delayed or slipping shifts, and CVT/AT overheating. Continued leaks risk gear damage and costly rebuilds.

    Tech tips ?

    Replace whenever the shaft is removed. Clean the bore, lube the lip, and drive the seal square to the correct depth. Use a sleeve over splines to avoid nicking. Verify breather is clear and refill with the exact Honda‑spec fluid.
