Premium Camshaft Timing Sensor for Toyota Engines
This precision engine phase sensor keeps your Toyota’s timing synced so fuel injection and spark occur at the exact millisecond. Built to OEM standards, it delivers stable readings, fast starts, smooth idle, and clean emissions across popular Toyota models .
Why your vehicle needs it
The unit tells the ECU the exact position of the camshaft versus the crankshaft. With that data, the ECU controls sequential injection, ignition timing, and variable valve timing. Result: strong low-end torque, better fuel economy, and reliable cold starts.
How it works
A magnetic/Hall-effect element senses a toothed cam target. It outputs a clean on/off waveform through a 3‑wire circuit (5V reference, signal, ground). The ECU counts pulses each rotation to calculate cam phase. Stable signal = precise timing and efficient combustion ✅.
What happens if it breaks
Expect long cranking, random stalling, rough idle, misfires, poor MPG, and Check Engine Light (often P0340/P0341). The ECU may switch to backup mode, reducing power; in some cases the engine may not start. Prolonged driving can harm the catalytic converter ⚠️.
Installation tips
Mounted at the cylinder head near the cam gear. Disconnect battery, unplug connector, remove the hold-down bolt, and lift out the sensor. Lightly oil the O‑ring, seat squarely, and tighten the fastener snugly (do not over-torque). Clear fault codes and road-test.
