Crankshaft Position Sensor for Toyota Compact Engines

This precision sensor tracks the crankshaft angle and speed, feeding the engine computer with an exact timing signal. With that data, the ECU fires the coils and injectors at the right moment for smooth starts, clean idle, and strong acceleration. Built to OEM spec, it resists heat, oil, and vibration for long service life.

Why you need it

Accurate crank timing is the heart of modern ignition and fuel control. A healthy sensor improves fuel economy, lowers emissions, and prevents misfire. It also keeps the catalytic converter safe.

How it works βš™οΈ

A magnetic pickup reads a toothed wheel on the crank. As teeth pass the tip, it creates a pulse train. The ECU counts these pulses to find crank position and RPM, then synchronizes spark and injection.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Hard start or no-start, random stalling, rough idle, poor power, and higher fuel use. The check engine light may show crank sensor or misfire codes. Long-term driving like this can damage the cat.
