Rear Spring Pin Bushing for Toyota Suspension
This suspension bushing is a small but critical part that sits in the rear spring pin area. Its job is to keep the leaf spring and pin aligned, reduce metal-to-metal contact, and absorb vibration from the road ?. Without a healthy bushing, the rear suspension cannot hold tight geometry under load.
Why This Part Is Needed
Rear leaf springs move slightly as the axle travels up and down. The bushing creates a controlled, smooth pivot point, helping the spring flex correctly while keeping noise and shock away from the body.
How It Works
The bushing forms a snug sleeve between the spring eye and the pin/bolt. As the suspension cycles, the pin rotates inside the bushing surface, spreading load evenly and preventing oval wear in the spring eye.
What Happens If Itβs Worn or Broken
A failed bushing can cause rear-end clunks, wandering handling, uneven tire wear, and poor stability during braking. In severe cases, the spring eye and pin can wear out fast, leading to costly suspension repairs β οΈ.
