Front Input Shaft Bearing for Toyota Gearbox ⚙️

This precision roller unit supports the transmission’s input shaft at the bellhousing side. It keeps the shaft centered, quiet, and free to spin at engine speed, so gears mesh smoothly and power flows without loss. Built to OE tolerances for long, quiet service.

Why you need it ❗

Without a healthy front support, the shaft tilts and overloads synchronizers and gear teeth. The result is heat, noise, and fast wear. A tight, true bearing restores smooth clutch take‑up, crisp shifting, and proper seal life.

How it works

Hardened races and rolling elements hold the shaft on a precise oil film. Under engine and clutch loads, it carries radial and light thrust forces, keeping alignment between clutch hub, input gear, and main case. Correct clearance controls vibration and noise.

When it fails ⚠️

Symptoms: growling in neutral with clutch out, whine that rises with rpm, rough engagement, metal glitter in oil, and leaks at the front seal. Ignoring it can pit races, seize rollers, wipe synchros, and even break gear teeth.

Fitment & install notes

Made to Toyota OE spec. Press in squarely, verify preload/endplay, renew front seal and snap ring, and fill with the specified GL‑4/GL‑5 oil.

Pro tips ✅

Inspect pilot bearing, shaft splines, and bearing pocket; replace as a set. Bed in with fresh oil and recheck for noise after a short road test.
