Front Axle Hub Dust Seal for Toyota 4x4
Keep your front hub sealed tight. This precision dust barrier blocks mud, water, and sand from the wheel bearing and hub assembly, on trails or city streets. It locks in grease, reduces friction, quiets the ride, and protects the spindle and CV area from premature wear.
Why you need it
Without a reliable seal, grit and moisture invade the hub, contaminate grease, and grind the bearing surfaces. The result is heat, noise, play in the wheel, and costly rebuilds. A fresh seal keeps lubrication clean and extends bearing and hub life.
How it works
A steel-cased body press-fits into the hub/knuckle. The flexible rubber lip runs on a machined face, wiping away debris every rotation while holding grease inside. Its oil- and temperature-resistant compound is built for heavy loads, water crossings, and high-mileage use.
What happens if itβs broken
Expect greasy streaks on the back of the wheel, rust tint around the hub, humming or grinding, steering shimmy, and possible ABS disturbances. Continued driving lets water pit bearings, overheat the hub, and can lead to wheel lock or failure.
Install tips
Clean the bore, inspect the running surface, lightly oil the lip, and drive the seal in square with a proper seal driver. Avoid nicking the lip. Torque hub hardware to spec and consider replacing seals in pairs.
