This compact shaft seal keeps engine, gearbox, or axle oil where it belongs and blocks dust, mud, and water. It is vital for clean lubrication, stable oil pressure, and long bearing life. Use it when you see wet edges around the crank, cam, or output flange, or after a rebuild to restore factory tightness.
How it works ⚙️
A reinforced metal shell presses into the housing. The rubber lip, supported by a garter spring, hugs the rotating shaft. Its T-profile has two lips: the inner lip holds oil; the outer dust lip shields from contaminants. Micro pump lines return oil to the unit during rotation. With proper surface finish and light pre‑lube, it runs cool and seals reliably.
Why it is needed
Without a healthy seal, oil escapes, dirt gets in, and components overheat. Correct sealing stops leaks, keeps belts and clutches dry, and protects gears and bearings. It also reduces smell, mess, and top‑up costs.
If the seal fails ⚠️
