Rear Leaf Spring U-Bolt for Toyota Rear Axle
This high-tensile rear spring U-bolt is built to clamp the leaf spring pack tightly to the axle seat on Toyota rear-drive setups. Precision threads and a formed U-shape give even clamping force on both RH and LH sides, keeping the axle centered and the suspension safe under load. It’s engineered for bus duty: corrosion-resistant finish, OE-grade steel, and correct shank length for factory plates and nuts.
Why you need it ✅
Every bump, corner, and brake event tries to shift the axle. The U-bolt locks the spring pack to the axle so ride height, alignment, and driveline angles stay correct. Replacing stretched, rusty, or damaged fasteners restores clamp load and prevents costly wear.
How it works ⚙️
The U-bolt arches over the spring and passes through the lower plate. When torqued, it compresses the pack against the axle perch, using friction to stop movement. Correct torque is critical; too loose allows slip, too tight can pinch leaves.
If it’s worn or broken
Expect clunks, rear-steer feeling, uneven tire wear, pinion angle change, vibration, leaf pack shift, and in severe cases brake line strain. A snapped bolt can let the axle walk—unsafe and damaging.
Install notes
Always replace in pairs, clean mating faces, use new nuts, torque in stages crosswise, and re-torque after short mileage. Do not re-use severely corroded hardware.
