Rear Spring UβBolt β Axle-to-Leaf Clamp π§
This heavy-duty Uβbolt locks the rear axle to the leaf spring pack, holding alignment and ride height. Off-road use, towing, rust, and overloading can stretch or corrode the bolt. Replacing it restores correct clamping force, stable handling, and safe braking.
How it works βοΈ
The Uβshaped rod wraps the axle tube and passes through the spring plate. Tightened nuts compress the leaf pack against the axle seat, keeping the axle centered under the chassis. Proper torque prevents movement, axle wrap, and driveline shock. Hardened threads and a plated surface resist wear and corrosion.
What happens if itβs damaged β οΈ
Loose or bent hardware causes clunks, rear steer, vibration under throttle, uneven tire wear, and pulling while braking. Severe failure can let the axle shift, shear center pins, or in worst cases detach from the springβmajor safety risk.
Tech tips β
Always replace Uβbolts in axle pairs, use new nuts/washers, clean seating surfaces, and torque in stages with a cross pattern. Reβtorque after 80β160 km. Do not reuse stretched or rusty hardware.
