Transaxle Case Oil Seal – Leak Protection for Smooth Driving ?️

This oil seal is a small but critical barrier that keeps gear oil inside the transaxle case and blocks dust and water from entering. It’s needed anytime the seal is worn, the transaxle has been opened, or you notice oily residue around the case area. A fresh seal helps maintain correct lubrication, stable shifting, and long component life.

How It Works βš™οΈ

The seal sits tightly in the transaxle housing and rides against a rotating shaft or mating surface. Its flexible sealing lip holds oil under splash and pressure changes, while the outer ring locks into the case to prevent seepage. Good sealing means the bearings and gears stay protected by a constant oil film.

What Happens If It’s Broken ❗

A damaged seal can leak gear oil, leading to low lubrication, overheating, whining noise, hard shifting, and accelerated wear of bearings and gears. In severe cases, the transaxle can suffer internal damage and require costly rebuilding. If you smell burnt oil or see drips, don’t ignore it.
