Fuel Injector Driver Module (Engine Control Component)
This part is the โpower switchโ between the ECU and the fuel injectors. It is needed because the ECU command is low-current, while injectors require a strong, fast electrical pulse to open and close precisely. With a healthy driver module, the engine gets the right fuel at the right time for smooth start-up, stable idle, and clean acceleration โ .
How It Works
The module receives timing signals from the ECU and converts them into high-speed, high-current pulses. It controls injector on-time (pulse width) and protects the circuit from voltage spikes created when injectors collapse their magnetic field. This keeps the injection pattern consistent and helps fuel economy and emissions ?.
If It Fails
A bad driver can cause misfires, rough running, poor throttle response, hard starting, injector codes, or one or more cylinders not fueling at all.
