This factory-spec security computer (immobilizer ECU) restores proper key authorization and anti-theft protection. Why this part is needed
It validates your key’s chip, releases the starter/engine, and prevents theft. When the original unit ages, suffers moisture, or gets corrupted during battery spikes, you may face intermittent starts, immobilizer lockout, or constant warning light.
How it works
The coil near the ignition/slot reads the key’s transponder. This module checks the code, syncs with the engine ECU, and only then enables fuel and spark. If the code is wrong, the engine stays disabled. It also stores key data and sync info .
What happens if it’s broken
- Crank no-start, or no-crank with blinking security light
- “Key not recognized” and DTCs like B2799
- Random stalling right after start
- Keys lose pairing; reprogramming required after replacement
