Automatic Transmission Control Module ⚙️
This smart gearbox controller is the brain of your automatic transmission. It keeps shifts smooth, protects internal parts, and helps fuel economy. If you want crisp, consistent gear changes and long gearbox life, this unit is essential.
How it works
The module reads data from speed, throttle, turbine speed, and temperature sensors, then commands shift and pressure solenoids. It times upshifts and downshifts, manages line pressure, and locks the torque converter for efficient cruising. The result: smooth power delivery and reduced clutch wear.
What happens if it fails ❗
Expect harsh or delayed shifts, no upshift, sudden downshift, or “limp” mode. Check Engine light appears with P07xx codes, fuel use rises, and the gearbox can overheat. Driving long with a bad controller risks burnt clutches and costly rebuilds.
Tech notes
Plug-and-play housing with heat sink and sealed electronics. Professional setup may be required: battery disconnect, adaptation/relearn, and VIN coding depending on vehicle. Always check wiring, grounds, and transmission fluid before replacement.
