Rear Left ABS Wheel Speed Sensor for Toyota
Keep your braking system smart and responsive with this OEM-quality rear-left wheel speed sensor. It continually feeds precise wheel rotation data to the ABS, traction control, and stability systems, helping the car brake straight, maintain grip, and stay predictable on wet or rough roads. Built with sealed electronics and a robust cable, it resists heat, mud, and road debris for long, reliable service.
Why this part is needed οΈ
Modern safety features depend on accurate wheel speed signals. With a healthy sensor, the controller can balance brake pressure, reduce skids, and optimize traction when one wheel slips. It also supports functions like cruise and hill assist on select setups.
How it works
A magnetic pickup reads the encoder (tone) ring on the hub. As the wheel turns, the sensor creates a clean square-wave signal proportional to speed. The ABS module compares all wheels in milliseconds to control valves and modulate braking. Correct air-gap and clean mounting face are essential.
What happens if itβs broken β οΈ
ABS/TRC/VSC lights may come on, traction control can disable, and stopping distance on slippery roads may increase. You might feel unexpected ABS pulsing at low speeds, experience unstable braking on bumps, or lose cruise control. Typical causes include corroded connectors, damaged wiring, or metal debris on the tip.
Tech notes β
Install on a clean hub, route the harness in factory clips, avoid pinching, and verify the tone ring is intact. Clear DTCs after fitting or perform a short drive cycle.
