Rear Right Wheel Speed Sensor
This sensor is a key input for the ABS and stability systems. It monitors how fast the rear right wheel is turning and sends a clean signal to the control unit. πβοΈ Without accurate wheel speed data, modern braking and traction features cannot react in time.
Why this part is needed
During braking, cornering, or slippery roads, the vehicle must know if one wheel is slowing down or slipping. This sensor helps prevent wheel lock-up and supports traction control, improving safety and tire wear.
How it works
The sensor reads a rotating tone ring (or magnetic encoder) at the hub. As the wheel spins, it generates pulses. The ABS module compares wheel speeds and, if needed, commands hydraulic pressure changes to keep the car stable. β
What happens if itβs broken
A failed sensor may trigger ABS/traction warning lights, disable ABS, and cause longer stopping distances on wet roads. You may also notice erratic speed readings, unwanted ABS activation, or stored fault codes. β οΈ
