Rear Right Wheel Speed Sensor ?βοΈ
This sensor is needed to monitor the rear right wheel rotation and feed an accurate signal to the ABS / traction control system. It helps the car brake straight, keep grip on slippery roads, and prevent wheel lock during hard stops.
How It Works ?
The sensor reads a toothed ring or magnetic encoder on the hub. As the wheel turns, it generates a pulsed signal. The ABS module compares all wheel speeds in real time and adjusts brake pressure when it detects a skid or lock-up.
What Happens If Itβs Broken β
When the sensor is damaged, dirty, or the wiring is cracked, the system may lose wheel speed data. Common results are ABS and traction warning lights, longer stopping distance on wet roads, unstable braking, and unwanted ABS activation at low speed. In some cases, cruise control and stability features may also be limited.
Why Replace It Now β
A healthy signal restores proper ABS response, improves safety, and prevents unnecessary stress on the braking hydraulics and control module.
