A Hall-effect element reads a toothed tone ring on the hub. Each passing tooth creates a clean digital pulse. The ECU counts pulses to know wheel speed from near 0 km/h. What happens if itβs broken
ABS/VSC/TRC lights on β οΈ, longer braking distances, no anti-lock action, traction disabled, odd speedometer/cruise behavior, and stored fault codes (e.g., left front circuit). Intermittent issues often come from rust on the ring or a chafed wire. Replace the sensor and clean the mounting face to restore accuracy.
