Front Right Wheel Speed Sensor (ABS)
This sensor is a must-have part of the ABS and stability control system. It reads the rotation speed of the front right wheel and sends a clean signal to the ABS/ESC computer. The vehicle then uses this data to prevent wheel lock-up during braking and to keep traction steady on wet roads ??.
Why this part is needed
Modern brake systems rely on exact wheel speed information to balance braking pressure and support traction control. Without a reliable signal, the control unit cannot react fast enough, especially in emergency stops or slippery turns.
How it works
The sensor sits close to a toothed ring or magnetic encoder in the hub. As the wheel spins, it detects changes in the magnetic field and creates a pulse signal. The ECU compares all four wheel speeds and adjusts braking pressure within milliseconds.
What happens if itβs broken
A failed sensor can trigger ABS/ESC warning lights, disable ABS, and cause traction control to stop working. You may feel longer stopping distance on slick surfaces, odd ABS activation, or speed-related fault codes. Ignoring it can increase tire wear and reduce safety β οΈ.
