Front Right Wheel Speed Sensor (ABS)
This sensor is a key input for the ABS and stability control system. It reads how fast the front right wheel is turning and sends a clean signal to the ECU, helping the car brake safely and stay stable on slippery roads ?.
Why this part is needed
Modern braking systems must know each wheel’s speed in real time. With accurate wheel-speed data, the ECU can prevent wheel lock, reduce skidding, and balance brake pressure during emergency stops.
How it works
The sensor sits near a tone ring (or magnetic encoder) on the hub. As the wheel rotates, it generates a pulsed signal. The ECU compares all four wheels and reacts instantly—pulsing ABS valves and adjusting traction control when a wheel begins to slip ⚙️.
What happens if it’s broken
A failed sensor can trigger ABS/ESC warning lights, disable ABS and traction features, cause uneven braking feel, and sometimes create speedometer or transmission shift issues. In wet conditions, stopping distance may increase, and stability control may not assist when you need it most ?.
