    Why it’s needed ⚙️

    Low oil means poor lubrication, extra heat, and fast wear. With a healthy sensor, you get an early alert to top up before damage occurs, extending bearing, cam, and turbo life while keeping service costs down.

    How it works

    Mounted in the sump, a sealed float and reed switch (or a thermistor) change the electrical signal as oil level moves. The control unit reads that signal and turns on the level icon when volume falls below the safe mark. A molded connector and oil‑resistant O‑ring keep out leaks and corrosion for stable readings.

    When it fails ⚠️

    Expect false alarms, no warning at all, or a flickering lamp. Signs include oil seepage at the flange, green/white corrosion in the plug, and stored level codes. Ignoring it risks oil starvation, knocking, chain rattle, and costly rebuilds. If the harness is brittle or the body is swollen, replace promptly.
