Genuine Air–Fuel Ratio Sensor for Toyota 🚗

This wideband AFR unit keeps your engine breathing right by holding the mixture near 14.7:1. It lets the ECU fine‑tune fuel trims for smooth idle, clean emissions, strong torque, and better mpg. On road or off road, it protects the catalytic converter and prevents fuel smell in the exhaust. Built to Toyota spec, it delivers fast feedback and stable readings in real-world heat and vibration.

Why you need it ⛽

The engine control system uses this sensor to close the loop on fueling. Accurate data means quicker cold starts, crisp throttle, and reduced emissions. It also avoids carbon buildup and keeps the cat alive longer.

How it works 🔧

Inside is a planar zirconia cell with a heater. Once hot (~700°C), a pump cell moves oxygen ions to hold a reference value. The ECU reads the pump current (not simple voltage) to know rich or lean and corrects injectors in milliseconds.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Expect rough idle, weak pull, high fuel use, hard cold starts, sulphur smell, black smoke, and a check engine light. The ECU may run open‑loop, risking rich washdown or lean heat and early catalytic converter failure. Causes include heater burnout, wiring damage, oil/coolant contamination, or age.
