Premium Wideband A/F Ratio Sensor – Upstream O2 Replacement

This high-precision wideband air–fuel ratio sensor keeps your engine in perfect tune. It feeds real‑time mixture data to the ECU so fuel trims stay tight, power stays smooth, and emissions remain low. If your original upstream unit is aged or contaminated, swapping to a fresh sensor restores crisp throttle response and correct fuel economy.

Why this part is needed

The ECU targets stoichiometric 14.7:1 for clean burn. A healthy A/F sensor lets closed‑loop control hit that target quickly, preventing rich or lean running, carbon buildup, and catalytic converter stress.

How it works ⚙️

Inside is a heated zirconia wideband cell. The heater brings the element to operating temp fast. The sensor compares oxygen in exhaust vs ambient and outputs a precise current/voltage signal. The ECU then adjusts injector pulse width in milliseconds to keep the mixture on point.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Expect rough idle, flat spots, hard starts, higher fuel use, sulfur smell, and a glowing MIL. Long term, a bad signal can overheat the catalyst. Common clues include rich trims, lazy sensor response, and stored mixture control codes.

Tech notes ✅

Install upstream before the catalytic converter. Use anti‑seize on threads (sensor-safe), torque to spec, and clear trims after install to speed relearn.
