Premium Air–Fuel Ratio Sensor for Toyota
This upstream A/F sensor keeps your engine at the ideal mixture so it breathes clean, saves fuel, and protects the catalytic converter. By feeding precise data to the ECU, it stabilizes idle, sharpens throttle response, and cuts emissions. If you want reliable mpg and smooth power, this is the small part that makes a big difference.
How it works ⛽
Mounted before the catalytic converter, the wideband element measures oxygen content in the exhaust. A built-in heater brings the sensor to temperature fast, then the cell generates a signal the ECU uses to adjust short-term and long-term fuel trims, holding near 14.7:1 under cruise. Result: efficient, clean combustion.
What happens when it fails ⚠️
Expect rough idle, poor mpg, hesitant acceleration, rich/lean smell, black smoke, or a glowing cat. The Check Engine light may show codes for heater or ratio control. Emissions tests can fail, and cold starts get harder. Ignoring it risks catalytic converter damage—costly and avoidable.
Install tips
Direct-fit connector and thread, apply anti-seize if specified, torque to spec, clear trims, and run a short adaptation drive. Use only quality fuel and fix exhaust leaks first.
