Premium Air‑Fuel Ratio Sensor (Upstream) for Toyota Engines 🔧
This wideband lambda unit reads oxygen in the exhaust so the ECU can keep the mix near 14.7:1. The result: smooth power, stable idle, clean emissions, and lower fuel use ⛽🌿.
Why you need it
The air‑fuel ratio sensor is the main feedback device for closed‑loop fueling. It fine‑tunes fuel trim during idle, cruise, cold starts, and altitude changes, protecting the catalytic converter and keeping drivability consistent.
How it works
Inside is a heated pump cell and reference chamber. Once hot, it creates a control current the ECU reads as lambda. The computer tweaks injector pulse until the sensor reports ideal burn. A quick heater brings it online within seconds for precise correction.
When it fails ⚠️
