Upstream Air‑Fuel Ratio Sensor for Toyota 🚗
This wideband A/F sensor keeps the engine at the ideal mixture so your Toyota runs smooth, clean, and efficient. It sends precise oxygen data to the ECU, allowing accurate fuel trims in closed loop. With a healthy sensor, you get quick throttle response, stable idle, low emissions, and better MPG.
How It Works ⚙️
Unlike a simple O2 sensor, this wideband unit uses a pump cell and heater to hold lambda near 1.00. The ECU reads the pump current from the sensing element in the exhaust stream (upstream, before the catalytic converter—often called Bank 1 Sensor 1) and adjusts injector pulse to maintain perfect air‑fuel ratio.
What Happens If It’s Bad ❗
- Check Engine Light, rich/lean codes

Tech Notes 🔧
