Air–Fuel Ratio Sensor for Toyota Engines ?

Keep your Toyota running clean and strong with this OE-grade air fuel ratio sensor (wideband oxygen sensor). It constantly reads oxygen in the exhaust so the ECU holds the ideal 14.7:1 mix. The result: smooth idle, crisp throttle, long catalyst life, lower fuel use, and clean emissions βœ….

Why you need it

Modern engines need precise feedback. This A/F sensor trims fuel in real time, stabilizes cold starts, prevents plug fouling, and shields the catalytic converter from rich burn. Expect better MPG and steady power βš™οΈ.

How it works

A heated wideband element (zirconia with pump cell) sits in the exhaust stream. Once hot, it generates a control current that tells the ECU how rich or lean the burn is. The ECU instantly adjusts injector pulse to keep lambda β‰ˆ 1 during cruise and adapts under load for power and economy.

What if it fails

Signs include higher fuel use, rough idle, hesitation, sulfur smell, black smoke, and a Check Engine Light (common: slow response or heater fault). Driving too long can overheat and poison the catalyst. Replace promptly, use anti-seize on threads, torque correctly, and avoid silicone sealers that can contaminate the tip.
