O2 Lambda Sensor for Toyota SUV 🔧
This genuine-type oxygen sensor keeps your engine smart and efficient. Fitted in the exhaust stream, it constantly reports leftover oxygen to the ECU, so fuel is trimmed in real time. The result is smooth driveability, strong catalytic converter protection, lower emissions, and better fuel economy. Perfect for restoring factory performance on daily drivers and long-mile commuters. 🚗
Why you need it
Without a healthy O2 probe, the ECU can’t hit the ideal 14.7:1 air‑fuel mix. That means wasted fuel, higher CO/HC, and risk to the catalyst. Replacing a tired sensor is far cheaper than replacing a clogged converter.
How it works ⚙️
The sensor generates a voltage that switches as the exhaust goes rich or lean (typically ~0.1–0.9 V). The ECU uses this signal in closed loop to correct short- and long‑term fuel trims, stabilizing idle, throttle response, and emissions.
What happens if it’s faulty
Expect rough idle, sluggish acceleration, poor MPG, sulfur smell, black tailpipe, failed smog, overheating catalyst, and a Check Engine Light (common codes P0130–P0161). Ignoring it can damage the converter and O2 wiring.
Tech notes ♻️
Install on a cool exhaust, avoid touching the sensing tip, apply high-temp anti‑seize to threads (not the vent), torque to spec, clear codes, and run a short drive cycle to relearn trims.
