This oxygen sensor keeps your Toyota engine efficient, clean, and responsive. It feeds the ECU with real‑time data so the air‑fuel mix stays near ideal. The result is smooth starts, steady idle, strong mid‑range torque, lower emissions, and better fuel economy ⛽.
Why it’s needed
Modern engines rely on accurate exhaust oxygen readings to adjust fuel trims. A healthy sensor protects the catalytic converter and helps pass inspection by controlling NOx, CO, and HC.
How it works
Inside is a zirconia element that generates a small voltage (lean ≈ low, rich ≈ high) comparing exhaust oxygen to outside air. An integrated heater brings it to operating temperature quickly, enabling fast closed‑loop control and stable trims.
When it’s failing ⚠️
Expect Check Engine Light, rough idle, hesitation, high fuel use, exhaust smell, poor acceleration, and possible cat damage. Emissions can spike and fuel trims drift rich/lean.
Tech tips
