This sensor is a key input for the ECU to keep the engine running clean, strong, and fuel‑efficient. It is needed to measure the oxygen level in the exhaust so the system can correct the fuel mixture in real time. When the mixture is right, you get smoother idle, better throttle response, and stable emissions performance.
How It Works ⚙️
Mounted in the exhaust stream, the sensing element reads how lean or rich the burn is. The ECU uses this signal to adjust injector pulse width and fine‑tune fuel trims. During warm operation it works continuously, helping the catalytic converter stay in its ideal window.
