Throttle Angle Sensor for EFI Systems ?⚑

This sensor is a key input device in the electronic fuel injection system. It tells the engine computer exactly how far the throttle plate is opened when you press the gas pedal. With that signal, the ECU can fine-tune fuel delivery, ignition timing, and idle control for smooth power and good fuel economy.

Why this part is needed

Modern EFI engines rely on accurate throttle angle data to react instantly to driver demand. Without a stable signal, the ECU β€œguesses,” which leads to drivability problems and wasted fuel.

How it works

Inside the unit is a precision potentiometer that changes voltage as the throttle shaft rotates. The ECU reads this changing voltage to detect idle position, part-throttle cruising, and wide-open throttle conditions.

What happens if it’s broken

A failing sensor may cause hesitation, rough idle, surging, delayed shifts, poor acceleration, higher fuel consumption, and an illuminated check engine light. In severe cases, the vehicle may enter limp mode to protect the drivetrain.
