Throttle Angle Sensor for EFI Systems βοΈ
This sensor is a key input device for the engine control unit in an EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) setup. It is needed to tell the ECU exactly how far the throttle plate is opened when you press the accelerator. With this information, the ECU can calculate the right fuel amount, ignition timing, and idle control for smooth power and good fuel economy.
How It Works ?
Inside the unit, a precision position track converts throttle shaft movement into a changing voltage signal. As the throttle opens or closes, the signal changes instantly, allowing the ECU to react in real timeβhelping acceleration feel sharp, reducing hesitation, and keeping emissions under control.
What Happens If It Fails ?
A worn or faulty sensor can send unstable or wrong readings. Common results include rough idle, delayed throttle response, jerking on light acceleration, higher fuel consumption, stalling at stops, and an illuminated check engine light. In some cases the car may enter limp mode to protect the engine and transmission.
