Rear Left Ride Height Control Sensor
This sensor is a key input for vehicles with automatic leveling or height-adjustable suspension. It measures the rear-left suspension arm position and sends a voltage signal to the suspension/leveling ECU, helping the car keep a stable ride height under load (passengers, luggage, towing) ?βοΈ.
Why this part is needed
When the body height changes, the ECU must know the exact suspension angle to correct the height. This keeps handling predictable, improves comfort, and helps maintain correct headlight aim on equipped systems.
How it works
The sensor uses a small linkage connected to the suspension. As the arm moves up/down, the internal potentiometer (or hall-type element) changes its output signal. The control unit reads it and adjusts leveling actuators to return the vehicle to the target height.
What happens if itβs broken
- Suspension warning light or fault codes
- Vehicle sits uneven or too low/high on one side
- Harsh ride, poor stability, incorrect headlight angle
- System may disable leveling to protect components
Compatibility
- Carnival 24 (2024-)
