Rear Right Height Control Sensor (Suspension Level Sensor)
This rear suspension height sensor is needed to keep your vehicle sitting at the correct ride height, especially under load, towing, or uneven road conditions. It helps the height control system βknowβ where the rear right corner of the body is, so the suspension can level the vehicle smoothly and safely.
How It Works
The sensor is mounted between the body and suspension arm with a small link. As the suspension moves up or down, the sensor converts that movement into an electrical signal. The control unit uses this signal to adjust height control actuators/air system, keeping the rear end stable, reducing squat, and improving braking and headlight aim.
Why This Part Matters
- Maintains correct ride height and load leveling
- Improves handling balance and tire contact
- Helps prevent uneven suspension stress
If the Sensor Is Broken
β οΈ A failed sensor may cause incorrect height readings, leading to a leaning rear corner, harsh ride, warning lights, or the height control system refusing to adjust. Long-term driving can increase tire wear, strain suspension components, and reduce stability when carrying cargo.
