This ultrasonic parking sensor is a key helper for safe low-speed driving and tight parking. It is needed to detect nearby obstacles that are hard to see from the driver seat, especially bumpersβ blind zones. The sensor sends out high-frequency sound waves and reads the echo coming back from objects. The control unit then converts that signal into distance warnings on the display or through beeps, helping you stop before contact.

When reverse or parking assist is active, the sensor pulses ultrasonic waves through its front face. If an object is close, the return echo comes back faster. The system calculates distance by time-of-flight and triggers step-by-step alerts as you approach the obstacle.

A faulty sensor may cause constant beeping, no warning at all, false βobstacleβ alerts, or a parking assist error message.
