Airbag Impact Sensor Assembly for Toyota
This safety sensor is a key input for the SRS airbag system. It is needed to detect a sudden crash pulse and send a clean signal to the airbag control unit so it can decide when to deploy airbags and seatbelt pretensioners ??.
How It Works
Inside the unit, a calibrated acceleration/impact element measures rapid deceleration. When the impact level matches programmed thresholds, the sensor reports the event instantly. The control module compares data from multiple points and, if conditions are correct, triggers deployment in milliseconds.
Why Replacing a Faulty Sensor Matters
If this sensor is broken, corroded, water-damaged, or has wiring/connector faults, the SRS warning light may stay on ⚠️. In a crash, airbags may deploy late, deploy incorrectly, or not deploy at all.
