Electronic Parking Brake Control Unit ?⚙️
This smart module is the “brain” that manages the electric parking brake system. It is needed to apply and release the parking brake with correct force, at the right time, and with full safety logic. Instead of a simple cable, it reads switch commands, pedal/gear signals, and brake feedback, then commands the actuator to clamp or release smoothly.
How it works ?
The controller communicates with the vehicle network and monitors voltage, motor load, and position data. It performs self-checks, stores fault codes, and can trigger warning lights when it detects abnormal operation. This helps keep hill-hold and parking functions stable and predictable.
If it fails ⚠️
A faulty unit may cause the parking brake to stick ON/OFF, show “Parking Brake Malfunction” messages, drain the battery, or disable auto-apply features. In worst cases, the vehicle may not hold safely when parked, or you may be unable to release the brake without service mode tools.
