Cabin Cooler Temperature Sensor (No.1) ?οΈβοΈ
This small sensor is a key helper for the A/C system. It is needed to measure cooler/evaporator temperature so the climate control can keep the cabin cold without freezing the evaporator. When temperature feedback is correct, the system cools faster, stays stable, and reduces compressor stress.
How it works ?
Inside the sensor is a thermistor whose resistance changes with temperature. The A/C amplifier (or HVAC control unit) reads this signal and decides when to cycle the compressor or adjust air-mix and blower strategy. This prevents ice build-up on the evaporator and keeps air coming out consistently cold.
What happens if it fails β οΈ
A bad reading can make the A/C act strange: weak cooling, sudden warm air, evaporator icing, or the compressor cycling too often. In some cases you may notice water leaks from excess ice melting, higher fuel use, or HVAC fault codes. Replacing the sensor restores accurate temperature control and protects the cooling core.
