    Cabin Cooler Temperature Sensor (No.2) ❄️

    This small sensor is used in the vehicle’s air conditioning system to watch the temperature around the cooler/evaporator area. The HVAC control unit needs this signal to keep cabin air comfortable, prevent evaporator icing, and protect the compressor from overload. ✅

    Why this part is needed

    Modern Toyota climate systems depend on accurate temperature feedback. This sensor helps the system decide when to cycle the compressor, adjust blower speed targets, and fine-tune vent outlet temperature for stable cooling.

    How it works

    It’s a thermistor type sensor: its electrical resistance changes with temperature. The AC amplifier reads that change and converts it into a temperature value. With correct readings, the system maintains cold air without freezing the evaporator core. 🔧

    What happens if it’s broken

    A faulty sensor can send wrong temperature data, causing weak cooling, sudden warm air, evaporator freeze-up, unusual compressor cycling, or AC warning codes. In some cases the system may limit compressor operation to avoid damage, leaving the cabin uncomfortable on hot days. ⚠️
