Toyota A/C Expansion Control Valve ❄️

This precision refrigerant metering valve keeps your cabin cold and your compressor safe. Built to OE behavior for Toyota HVAC systems, it stabilizes low-side pressure, speeds cool-down, and prevents evaporator icing for steady, quiet comfort.

Why your car needs it

The valve controls how much liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator. Correct flow means fast cooling, proper superheat, and no liquid returning to the compressor—key for performance and long service life.

How it works

A sensing bulb and diaphragm react to evaporator outlet temperature/pressure. The needle opens or closes the port to keep superheat in the safe range, balancing high-side and low-side circuits for efficient heat exchange.

When it fails ⚠️

Warm air, slow cooling at idle, frost on lines, hissing, short cycling, or sky-high head pressure can appear. Stuck open floods the evap and risks compressor slugging. Stuck closed starves the core, causing weak cooling and potential compressor overheat.

Tech tips

Replace the receiver/drier, renew O-rings, add correct PAG oil, vacuum 30–45 minutes, and weigh in the charge. Leak-test after fitting and torque lines to spec.
