Why you need it

How it works
Inside the shell, a small DC motor tilts the glass via a gear plate for up/down and left/right movement. A thin heater film (on heated versions) clears fog and frost. Some trims add power-fold and turn indicator. The convex lens widens the field of view, while a foam gasket seals out water. A multi-pin harness feeds 12V to the motor, heater, and signal. The bracket mounts to the door with three studs; a damping pad keeps the image steady.
What happens if it’s broken
Cracked or loose glass narrows vision and increases blind spots. Water ingress can kill the motor or heater, causing fogging and poor visibility. A bent bracket makes wind noise and vibration. No fold function risks damage in tight spaces. In many places, broken glass is a legal fail. ⚠️
