SRS Airbag Diagnostic Control Module ?️
This safety control unit is the “brain” of the airbag system. It is needed to monitor crash sensors, seat-belt signals, and impact data, then decide in milliseconds when to activate airbags and pretensioners. It also stores fault codes so technicians can diagnose the SRS correctly.
How It Works ⚙️
The module constantly checks sensor inputs and internal circuits. When it detects a collision above the set threshold, it sends a firing command to the airbag igniters and belt pretensioners. At the same time, it records event data and keeps the warning lamp logic under control for safe self-checks at ignition on.
What Happens If It Fails ?
A faulty unit can trigger an SRS warning light, store communication errors, or disable the airbag system. In the worst case, airbags may not deploy in an accident—or may deploy incorrectly. Because SRS is a life-saving system, replacement and coding/initialization should be done with proper scan tools and battery safety steps.
