Fusible Link Box Assembly for Mitsubishi
This power distribution safety unit protects the main electrical feed from overloads and short circuits β‘. It is needed because modern vehicles run many high-current circuits (starter, alternator charge line, cooling fans), and a normal small fuse cannot safely handle or interrupt these loads.
How it works
Inside the box are heavy-duty fusible links and terminals. Current flows from the battery through these links to key systems. If a circuit draws too much power, the link heats up and melts in a controlled way, cutting the supply before wiring damage can spread ?. This helps prevent melted harnesses and electrical fires.
What happens if itβs broken
A damaged unit may cause random no-start, sudden power loss, charging problems, or intermittent dead electrical systems. Corroded connections can create voltage drop, leading to dim lights, slow cranking, and ECU communication faults. If the link is bypassed or fails incorrectly, wiring can overheat and serious damage may follow ?.
