Why this part is needed
On SUVs and hatchbacks, the rear glass takes dust, rain, and road film. This arm keeps the blade pressed evenly on the window, restoring clean visibility for safe reversing and lane changes. A proper fit prevents vibration, protects the glass, and supports parking cameras and sensors .
How it works
The arm locks onto the motor’s splined shaft and pivots on a smooth bushing. A calibrated spring loads the blade toward the glass, while the motor swings the arm to sweep water and grime away. The cap shields the retaining nut from corrosion, and versions with a washer jet aim fluid directly where it’s needed .
What happens if it’s broken
Bent or cracked arm = weak contact, streaks, and blind spots. A seized hinge causes skipping and chatter; loose splines create misalignment or no movement. Prolonged use like this can scratch the glass, stress the motor, and leave the rear view unsafe, especially in heavy rain or snow ️.
